Jamie Travis, PhD

Pediatric Psychologist

Dr. Travis is a pediatric psychologist at Akron Children’s, where she’s been practicing since 2016. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. and completed her residency in clinical child and pediatric psychology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric psychology with an emphasis in hematology/oncology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center/OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. Dr. Travis has a special interest in behavioral sleep medicine, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for insomnia, child, adolescent and family adjustment to chronic illness with a focus on CBT, parent management training and acceptance and commitment therapy,coping with and adhering to medical treatment, and anxiety disorders/selective mutism (including CBT with exposure therapy). She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society of Pediatric Psychology and the Society of Behavioral Sleep, as well as several other professional organizations.
